It began in 2021 when I started searching for the perfect birthday and special occasion dresses for my daughter. I wanted something reminiscent of what my mum dressed me in—beautiful, high-quality garments filled with nostalgia and sentiment. However, every shop seemed to offer the same mass-produced designs in low-quality fabrics. There were some alternatives, but none captured the timeless charm of the cherished outfits my mum had preserved for over 30 years.

Determined to bring back that craftsmanship, I spent my daughter’s nap times designing, researching, and sourcing the finest fabrics. With my mum, Priya, we tested suppliers, worked with artisans, and refined our designs to ensure every piece was made to the highest standard. After three years of dedication, Miss Ayana Rose officially launched in May 2024.

We proudly work exclusively with women, particularly mature artisans in Melbourne, Victoria, and Colombo, Sri Lanka. By providing fair wages and sustainable employment, we empower these talented women, many of whom are mothers themselves. Each garment is lovingly handcrafted, with intricate lace, embroidery, and smocking, ensuring every dress is a true heirloom to be passed down for generations.

In late 2024, after welcoming my son, I realised the same lack of high-quality, beautifully designed clothing for boys. This inspired us to expand our collection, bringing the same timeless elegance and craftsmanship to boys' garments.
